Google has released a stable version of Android 13

Google began distributing a stable version of the operating system Android 13. Google Pixel smartphones will be the first to receive the new OS. The release of the final version of Android 13 happened earlier than expected. The release of Android 12 last year took place in October, and Android 11 - in September 2020.

In the new version of the operating system, Google has focused on refining features that the company introduced last year with the transition of Android to the new Material You interface. For example, in the quick settings menu, the buttons for editing QS tiles, device shutdown and settings have changed their location.

The number of possible color schemes of the system based on wallpaper and primary colors in the Wallpaper and Style section has been increased to 16.

In the new version of the OS, dynamic application icons can be applied to all software installed on the device, not just to Google-branded products.

The company has added more privacy options. Instead of access to all files, you can now give separate permissions for reading photos, videos, and each type of file. Also, for each app in Android 13 you will need to give separate permissions to send notifications, which will be turned off by default.

It is now possible to send messages from applications, including Google Messages, directly to Chromebooks (in the manner of iMessage on Macs).

Language settings in Android 13

Innovations also include setting a language other than the system language for each individual app. Android 13 introduces Bluetooth LE Audio support for more efficient wireless audio transmission to wireless headphones. There is also support for surround sound with head-tracking, which changes the direction of sound depending on the user's head rotation. The company does not specify which models of headphones from third-party manufacturers will support this technology, but earlier Google reported that it would give such a function to its wireless headphones Pixel Buds Pro.

It's worth noting that Android changes that appear in Google's Pixel devices don't always appear in other brands' smartphones. Google described the new features and functions that Android 13 offers on the Pixel 4, Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 families of smartphones.

After Pixel smartphones, the new Android 13 operating system this year and next year will start getting smartphones from Samsung, ASUS, Nokia (HMD), Motorola, OnePlus, Oppo, Sony, Xiaomi and other manufacturers.
