Xiaomi 12 Ultra flagship smartphone will get an advanced camera with a liquid lens

Verified insider Digital Chat Station posted on the Chinese social network Weibo important information revealing the features of the camera of the top flagship Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The blogger claims that the smartphone will be equipped with a unique camera, which will include a liquid lens. The manufacturer used a similar solution in the folding model with a flexible display Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, released last spring.

Recall, the Mi Mix Fold camera had a lens capable of changing its shape. Such a lens was versatile. It could act as a telephoto module with a 3x optical zoom or as a unit for macro photography.
According to the source, in Xiaomi 12 Ultra liquid lens will play a different role: a "wide-angle" and macro module. This component, which has a large size, will be located in the center of a circular area, which will house the rear camera.

Previous leaks suggest the use of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a curved OLED display with a high refresh rate. Power will be handled by a powerful 5000 mAh battery supporting 120-watt wired charging. The smartphone will get stereo speakers and a body protected against water by the IP68 standard.
The flagship will be announced this summer. The starting price will be $885.
